Because of our extensive expertise in material development, we have created a library of custom blends. These unique materials provide distinctive characteristics to meet specific requirements for the products we manufacture.

Hythane® TPE

100 years of experience

Our suite of Hythane® TPEs is one of the most recognized in the industry.

Armorlene® PTFE

The industry’s most comprehensive PTFE portfolio

Developed from our very own material and compound production, Hallite’s new Armorlene® PTFE fluid power seals come in a complete range of product profiles, forming one of the most comprehensive collections of its kind in the industry. Plus, as with all of our seals, they come with the technical services to help provide the advice necessary to develop tailored product solutions.

Our new PTFE material is a fit-for-purpose solution designed for dynamic sealing applications, offering many benefits of use such as:

  • Improved wear resistance
  • Improved heat transfer
  • Increase in mechanical strength
  • Improved extrusion resistance
  • Reduced friction
  • Increase in thermal conductivity

XPC™ compounds

We offer an outstanding line of continuous-carbon filament-wound composites for use in pumps, valves, and compressor components. XPC has a thermal expansion coefficient close to that of metal. This characteristic allows a designer to replace metal parts, without any change in dimensions. Its low friction factor and good wear resistance results in excellent tribological properties.

It is primarily used in rotating equipment such as gear boxes, centrifugal pumps, blenders/mixers, compressors, and screw pumps.

Features include:

  • Superior chemical resistance
  • Excellent shock resistance (mechanical and thermal)
  • Excellent dimensional stability
  • Retention of mechanical properties at high temperatures
  • Increased reliability offering increased MTBF
  • Continuous service temperatures up to 600°F (315°C)
  • Reduced galling and seizing
  • Improves the efficiency of centrifugal pumps by reducing running clearances
  • Suitable for machining and grinding

Permeon®

Porous PTFE for ventilation and breathable air systems

Permeon® is a unique polymeric material which is naturally hydrophobic: it allows gases to pass through but blocks the passage of polar liquids. It can be rigid or flexible, installed in any position, and encapsulated.  Permeon® also has a uniform and controlled porosity and a wide range of temperature uses.

Sintermesh®

PTFE impregnated wire mesh for superior anti-extrusion

Patented Sintermesh® material was specifically designed for oilfield applications. Today it is used in a variety of industries. It is an impregnated wire mesh that can be manufactured with a variety of compounds depending on the requirements. It is often used in packing sets, downhole packers, and bearings. It can also be molded into elastomeric components as an anti-extrusion reinforcement.

Service applications include:

  • -300°F to +650°F
  • High-pressure
  • Large extrusion gaps
