Position Summary
The Finance Director is a key member of the regional leadership team responsible for providing strategic financial leadership across the Americas. The role partners with commercial, operations, supply chain, engineering, and functional leaders to drive profitable growth, operational excellence, and long-term value creation.
The Finance Director leads all aspects of financial planning, reporting, business analysis, compliance, treasury, and risk management while ensuring robust financial governance across the region. This leader will help shape business strategy by translating financial insights into actionable recommendations that improve performance, optimize investment decisions, and strengthen customer and shareholder value.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partner
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the President and Regional Leadership Team.
- Develop financial strategies that support the Americas growth plan.
- Influence commercial decisions through financial analysis, pricing, profitability, and investment evaluations.
- Support strategic initiatives including market expansion, new product launches, acquisitions, and capital investments.
- Present financial performance and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and the Board as required.
Financial Planning & Performance
- Lead the annual operating plan, strategic planning, and forecasting processes.
- Develop rolling forecasts and long-range financial models.
- Monitor business performance against key financial and operational metrics.
- Drive actions to improve revenue growth, gross margin, EBITDA, cash flow, and return on investment.
- Provide insightful financial analysis that supports timely business decisions.
Manufacturing & Operations Finance
- Partner closely with Operations and Supply Chain leaders to improve manufacturing efficiency and profitability.
- Analyze plant performance, material costs, labor productivity, inventory, scrap, and overhead absorption.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
- Evaluate capital expenditure opportunities and post-investment performance.
- Support inventory optimization and working capital improvements.
Commercial Finance
- Partner with Sales and Marketing to evaluate customer profitability, pricing strategies, distributor performance, and sales channel effectiveness.
- Develop financial models supporting key account strategies and commercial negotiations.
- Provide profitability analysis by customer, product family, market segment, and geography.
- Support business development initiatives across the fluid power, mobile equipment, industrial, and aftermarket sectors.
Financial Reporting & Controls
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Maintain compliance with IFRS/GAAP and corporate accounting policies.
- Oversee internal controls, audit coordination, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting.
- Ensure financial integrity across all regional operations.
Treasury & Risk Management
- Manage regional cash flow, banking relationships, and liquidity.
- Optimize working capital through improved receivables, inventory, and payables management.
- Monitor foreign exchange exposure and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Support insurance, compliance, and enterprise risk management activities.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance organization.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.
- Build finance capability across business units through coaching and succession planning.
- Champion cross-functional collaboration throughout the organization.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification required.
- MBA preferred.
Experience
- 12+ years of progressive finance leadership experience.
- Minimum 5 years leading finance within a global manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting multiple countries and legal entities across the Americas.
- Strong background in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, commercial finance, and supply chain finance.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or similar).
- Experience working within matrixed global organizations.
